As one of the most competitive international high schools in Shanghai, GHCIS seeks self-disciplined, positive students with high potential in academics, music, arts, or sports. Admission is not solely based on academic criteria; we also consider the character, interests, talents, and personality of each applicant.
The school has two admission seasons—Fall and Spring. The Fall season primarily admits students for the 3-year or 4-year programs, while the Spring season admits students for the 3.5-year and 2.5-year programs.
The student application process is as follows:
Register on the school's official website (www.ghcis.com). Provide the student's basic information, select the grade they are applying for, choose the date of the entrance exam, and pay the entrance exam fee to secure a spot.
Students take entrance exams in Mathematics and English. During the exam, the school will host a parent meeting to introduce its educational philosophy, curriculum system, and the growth path for students in the international curriculum.
A week after the entrance exam, the school will send interview invitations to students who meet the academic standards.
The interview, conducted online, will assess the student's English communication skills, ability to interact with others, learning potential, interests, stresstolerance, independence, and more.
The school will issue an "Admission Letter" to students who pass both the written exam and the interview.
Parents pay the tuition fees, and the student officially becomes a member of GHCIS.
